How much do your services cost?
Rates begin at $26-$30/hr plus tax. (Note that $16-$20 goes directly to the caregiver/housekeeper and $10/hr plus HST goes to our agency.)

  • Rates depend on the service needed, duties expected and location.
  • Extra fees for bus fare/pass or Go train may apply.
  • Credit card information must be provided at the time of booking.
  • There is a $50 cancellation fee.

What is your cancellation policy?
There is a $50.00 charge should you wish to cancel your requested service. The charge is applied immediately following your request for service.

Is there a minimum number of hours required to book a service?
Though your family may only require a couple hours of service, we need to take into consideration travel time to and from your home. Therefore, In a Pinch bills for a minimum of four hours even if you do not use that amount of time.

How do you screen your caregivers?
In a Pinch guarantees that our professional caregivers meet the following standards:

  • Undergone our extensive screening process, which includes:
    • One on one interview
    • Child care experience and references
    • Background checks
    • Establishing that they are legally allowed to work in Canada
  • Infant and child CPR and First Aid training and certification
  • Exhibit responsibility, know-how, creativity, enthusiasm, warmth and integrity
Babysitters are happy to adhere to established family rules, dietary requirements, and sleep schedules.

What if I want to hire the caregiver In A Pinch provided as a full time nanny?
There is a permanent placement fee for those who wish to hire part-time nannies for full- time employment. Once we have introduced you to a candidate, you have the option to offer her a full-time position through us if she is available.

The person you send isn't the right match for our family. What should I do?
At In a Pinch, we want to meet your needs. We will keep sending caregivers your way until you have found the right match. In a Pinch requires advanced notice of any changes. The more clear you are on what needs you have, the better we can serve and meet those needs.

Where do you find your nannies?
We have an amazing, international team of nannies that grows daily. Our sister company, Wee Care Placement Agency, interviews over 25 nannies each week and employs them through In a Pinch until they find permanent placements.
